Board of Directors

Claire Keller

President

Claire Keller has worked in education for more than 20 years, beginning her career as a mathematics teacher and now serving as an Assistant Superintendent. A former distance runner, she competed for both Hackensack High School and The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and later coached middle and high school cross country and track and field.

Her lifelong passion for running led her to become an active member of the Striders program, where her children have participated for the past four years. Over the last three years, Claire has also volunteered as a coach, sharing her enthusiasm for the sport with young athletes.

Claire serves on the Board of Directors to support programs that help young athletes grow through Cross Country and Track and Field. She believes these sports build confidence, community, and a lifelong love of challenge and achievement.

Steve Burns

Vice President

Steve serves on the Board of Directors to help guide the continued growth and development of the program. He attended Union College,  graduating in 2001 with a degree in Political Science. He has worked in financial services as a distribution executive for over 24 years and takes pride in being solution oriented.

Over the past two years, he has had the privilege of coaching and supporting the team through its ongoing transition. Steve’s love of running and pull towards coaching began while growing up on Cape Cod. He was a 4 year letterman and 2 year captain in both Track & Field and Cross Country, eventually leading Sandwich High School to finish #3 in the Massachusetts State Championships his senior year. He was also a two-year starter and league all-star on the Varsity Basketball team.

In addition to his involvement with track & field, Steve brings valuable experience from coaching and leading various teams and clinics in the River Vale football, basketball, and baseball organizations over the past 8 years. His broad perspective and leadership experience help strengthen the program as it moves forward on its new path.

Heather Martinez

Secretary

Heather serves on the Board of Directors to continue supporting and strengthening the vibrant community that Westwood Track & Field has brought to her family. Her son’s passion for track & field and cross country has inspired her to stay deeply involved in the program for more than six years, taking on a wide range of volunteer roles.

In recent years, Heather has led key initiatives such as helping to create and manage the cross country team, planning practices, organizing uniforms, developing an online merchandise store, registering athletes for events, and coordinating awards. She has also assisted Coach Nestor with organizing a winter training program for throwers and helped plan and execute both the spring track & field and post-season programs. Heather is excited to continue contributing her experience and energy to help the team grow and thrive.

Laura Dinallo

Treasurer

Laura serves on the Board of Directors to help support and sustain the positive impact the program has on young athletes. Inspired by the growth and development she’s seen in her son, Michael, over the past two years, she is committed to ensuring the program’s continued success.

Professionally, Laura is the Assistant Vice President of Internal Audit at a real estate development firm in New York City, where she has worked for 23 years. Before that, she spent three years in public accounting and holds an active CPA license in the state of New York.

Kelly Clark

Kelly serves on the Board of Directors to help create a fun, positive environment where all children can grow and develop as athletes. Cross country and track & field have long been an important part of her life—and now a meaningful part of her children’s as well.

A lifelong runner, Kelly competed at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels before spending 15 years coaching high school cross country and track & field at Paramus. She looks forward to sharing her experience and enthusiasm in the seasons ahead, both as a coach and as a Board member.

Randy Martinez

Randy serves on the Board of Directors to give back to a program that has supported his family for many years. As an active parent for the past eight years, with both of his children participating in the Striders program, he has regularly volunteered at practices and offered help wherever needed. Through his role on the Board, Randy looks forward to continuing to support and strengthen the program that has been such a meaningful part of his children’s lives.

He is also contributing to the development of the program’s new website.

In addition to his involvement with Striders, Gideon serves on the Board of Directors for the River Vale Youth Soccer League, bringing valuable experience and perspective as the program transitions to its new structure.
