XC 2025 First meet info 9/14
Please be sure to update your runner’s availability for each meet by the Wednesday before the meet so we can pre-register them!
Hi all,
Next Sunday, September 14th will be our first meet at Lakeland League (lakelandyouthrunning.org) at Central Park of Morris County (1 Gov Chris Christie Parsippay-Troy Hills NJ) For those new to XC this is a huge park with many fields, rinks, and courts as well as a cross country course- so drive past all those fields, rinks and courts to get to the course. Approximate start times & distances are as follows:
6-8 year old boys 8:45am 1600 meters
6-8 year old girls 9:05am 1600 meters
9-10 year old boys 9:25am 2000 meters
9-10 year old girls 9:50am 2000 meters
11-12 year old boys 10:20am 3000 meters
11-12 year old girls 10:50am 3000 meters
13-14 year old boys 11:20am 3000 meters
13-14 year old girls 11:35am 3000 meters
*** ages are determined by age as of December 31st so if your child is 10 and will turn 11 on December 31 they will be competing in the 11-12 division*** (Distances will increase to USATF standards begining with the Strider’s 9/21 meet in Mahwah.)
Runners will wear their Westwood singlet (tank top) and black shorts to race in but please have them dress to keep warm while they are waiting for their race to start. Singlets will be given out at practice over the next 2 weeks- please see Nancy and Courtney. Running bibs and safety pins will be provided at the meet. Keep your bib as we will be re-using them on Sunday, September 28 when we come back to compete at Lakeland. After parking, you walk up the small hill into the race area & you will see the Westwood T&F/XC flags to the right. Please arrive 45min-1 hour prior to your scheduled race time to ensure enough time to park and warm up. Feel free to bring chairs, tents and snacks (for after the race!)

Medals will be awarded to the top 25 in each category and will be available shortly after each race. Results will be posted on site after each race and can also be found on Lakeland League website. Once your runner has completed their race you are free to go home or stay and cheer on your teammates.
